Three German fishermen came across an unexpected surprise in their nets on Tuesday.

Among Konrad Fischer, Klaus Matthiesen and Thomas Buick’s haul, which was brought up two miles off the coast of Kiel, was an old beer bottle stuffed with a postcard dated May 17, 1913.

The 101-year-old message in a bottle is one of the oldest ever found.

According to Guinness World Records, the oldest message in a bottle is one that was released on June 10, 1914. If the Kiel bottle is certified, it would supplant that record.

But, in September of last year, a man walking along a beach in British Columbia, Canada, came across a bottle that was sent on Sept. 29, 1906.
