A 13-year-old boy was arrested and taken into custody for breaking Britain’s strict quarantine rules, a cop has revealed.

“Today I arrested a 13 year old male under the new corona virus powers,” Ste Richardson, a senior section officer for West Yorkshire Police, wrote Saturday in a now-deleted tweet, according to LeedsLive.

“The male refused to give me any details so I could take him home under the Act. He was arrested and taken to custody,” the officer admitted.

“His mother was dealt with for being a responsible person failing to comply,” he said, without offering further details.

The UK enforced a strict lockdown last week, making residents stay home apart from essential activities.

As the UK reached close to 20,000 confirmed cases — with more than 1,200 deaths — Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove warned in an interview with the BBC that the measures would last a “significant period.”

“I wish I could predict when this would end,” he told the broadcaster. “The reason that all of us are making these sacrifices is because all of us will have people we love who are at risk from this virus.”
