A 13-year-old girl was stabbed in the neck by a fifth-grader at a Cleveland elementary school early Thursday, police and administrators said.

The victim, an eighth-grader, was rushed to a hospital in serious condition following the 8:30 a.m. stabbing during a fight with another girl inside Holy Name Elementary School, Cleveland police told The Post.

The fifth-grader, who was arrested at the scene, stabbed the older girl in the neck and chin, police spokeswoman Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said. A knife was recovered.

The victim is expected to survive, Ciaccia said.

A woman who answered the phone at Holy Name Elementary said the school had no comment when reached by The Post.

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland confirmed it was looking into the circumstances of the stabbing while cooperating with police investigators.

“Altercations between students are not tolerated at Holy Name Elementary,” diocese officials said in a statement. “Holy Name Elementary works hard to create a safe and healthy environment for its students. Our school community prays for the swift recovery of the student who was injured.”

Classes at the school will be canceled Friday and resume on Monday. Counselors will also be made available for students, WEWS-TV reported, citing diocese officials.
