Police are searching for those responsible for stealing a 150-pound statue and other items from the set of the highly anticipated “Beetlejuice 2″ film in Vermont.

Police said they received reports of two strange and unusual incidents from the East Corinth filming site, which included the theft of a large, skeletal statue and a lamppost with distinctive pumpkin decoration on top of it, Vermont State Police said.

“We tried saying the name of this stolen statue three times, but it didn’t come back!” Vermont State Police quipped in a Facebook post about the incident on Friday.

Just after midnight on July 14, security personnel told police an older-model GMC pickup truck drove up to the lamppost on Village Road, removed its base and drove off with it, NBC 5 reported.

Movie staff then confirmed on Monday thieves had struck again and the statue had been taken. Police said they believe it was snatched sometime between 5 p.m. on July 13, and 11 a.m. July 17.
