A 17-year-old boy has become the youngest to die of coronavirus in Georgia, officials have revealed.

The unidentified teen was listed Sunday as part of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency’s latest statistics showing 43,321 confirmed cases and 1,827 deaths in the Peach State.

The teen boy was from Fulton County and had pre-existing conditions.

A health department spokeswoman confirmed the death to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution without giving further detail.

Previously, the state’s youngest known coronavirus fatality had been a 22-year-old woman from Muscogee County, the paper said.

Georgia has also reported nine children as suffering from MIS-C, the new inflammatory syndrome linked to the pandemic, AJC said.
