Joe Biden is projected to win the state of Illinois and its 20 electoral votes, according to the Associated Press.
The safety-Democratic state was carried by Hillary Clinton in 2016 and has voted Democratic in the past six presidential elections.
The midwestern state’s two Senate seats are also held by Democrats Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin.
