Frightening home security camera footage showed the moment a trio of masked intruders broke into the Hollywood Hills home of an influencer and star of the MTV reality show “The Real Friends of WeHo.”
Joey Zauzig, 31, shared chilling details of the home invasion with his 459,000 Instagram followers Monday.
The influencer revealed how he and his newlywed husband, Brian Grossman, were asleep around midnight when the burglars breached their home.

Instagram / Joey Zauzig“I woke up to it and triggered the alarm as they shattered one of the glass doors,” Zauzig wrote in his Instagram Stories, adding that he and his husband were unharmed and their dogs were safe because they were away at a training camp.
Zauzig posted a brief clip from his security camera showing the would-be robbers sporting black ski masks creeping stealthily through the yard.
“It was truly one of the scariest things ever and seeing the footage on our cameras and waking up to it,” the MTV personality wrote. “I’m still very much in shock.”
In a follow-up post, Zauzig thanked well-wishers for their messages of support and admitted that he and his husband of 10 months “feel completely violated” and “sick to our stomachs.”
“Now I’m angry. These people are disgusting and sick,” he added, apparently referring to the intruders.
Early Tuesday, Zauzig uploaded a video telling his followers that he was still not “back to normal” after being tormented by nightmares in the wake of the terrifying intrusion.

Zauzig is best known for starring in MTV’s “The Real Friends of WeHo” last year. Getty Images for GLAADPolice in Los Angeles told KTLA they were looking for the suspects in the Hollywood Hills home invasion, who had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.
Zauzig shared a screenshot of the intruders’ alleged getaway vehicle, which he said looked like a red Dodge Charger.
“The Real Friends of WeHo” premiered on MTV in January 2023, following a group of LGBTQ+ celebrities and their adventures in West Hollywood.
Created by TV personality Brad Goreski, the one-season reality show featured TV host Jaymes Vaughan, actor Curtis Hamilton, Buttah Skincare CEO Dorión Renaud and entertainer Todrick Hall.
