Five people were found dead after a fire broke out at a home in Sheffield, Massachusetts.

The bodies were discovered in the house on Home Road after firefighters responded to the blaze that was reported before 8 a.m. on Wednesday.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire by 9:15 a.m., The Berkshire Eagle reported.

Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington called the investigation “complicated” and did not take questions at a news conference.

State police said the road leading to the home would be closed for a significant period of time.
