More than 50 residents at a California nursing home have tested positive for the coronavirus — and two of the patients have died from the illness, officials said Tuesday.

Health officials in San Bernardino County said all residents in the Cedar Mountain rehab center should assume they’ve contracted COVID-19.

In addition to the 51 residents who have tested positive so far at Cedar Mountain, six staffers are also confirmed to have been stricken by the virus.

It’s unclear how many residents currently live at the nursing home. A Yelp page for the business states it has 95 beds.

The facility has been closed to visitors under the state’s stay-at-home order. It’s also currently not accepting new residents.

California has seen over 8,200 coronavirus cases and reported 173 deaths as of Tuesday.

Nursing homes, including one in Washington state, have been especially vulnerable to the coronavirus as they mainly house elderly residents with chronic medical conditions.
