There’s something fishy about this catch.
A 9-pound goldfish was found in a South Carolina lake, county park officials announced Monday.
The fish was discovered at Oak Grove Lake by a county-hired lake specialist conducting studies to determine the health of fish populations, WYFF reported.
“Anyone missing their goldfish?” Greenville County Recreation wrote on Twitter, along with a photo of the monster goldfish.
The goldfish was recovered while the lake specialist was electrofishing, a method that stuns the fish and causes them to float to the surface, Ty Houck, of Greenville County Parks, Recreation & Tourism, told WYFF.
Electrofishing does not harm the water dwelling creatures.
The goldfish was released back into the lake as it does not pose a threat to the ecosystem, the report said.
