A 13-year-old Texas girl missing since last month may be in “grave or immediate danger,” authorities said.

Betsabe Perez, of Del Rio, was last seen in her hometown on Sept. 9 while wearing a white shirt and black and white bandanna, according to an Amber Alert issued Monday.

The Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Erik Diaz-Tapia, 19, in the teen’s abduction. The suspect was last seen driving a red, older-model, four-door sedan with Texas plates — possibly a Pontiac, authorities said.

“Officials believe this child to be in grave or immediate danger,” the Amber Alert reads.

Diaz-Tapia, who was last seen in Del Rio, is described as 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Perez is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds and has dark brown hair and brown eyes, authorities said.

The connection or relationship between Diaz-Tapia and the girl, if any, is unclear.

A call seeking additional comment from the Val Verde County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately returned early Tuesday.
