Florida resident Curtis Gruwell “f–ked up” — and he knows it.

The 34-year-old was interviewed Tuesday not long after being arrested on human trafficking charges and asked what he’d say to his parents and peers about what he allegedly did.

“They should probably shoot me,” bemoaned Gruwell, speaking to FOX 13.

“I f–ked up.”

Gruwell, who turned himself in to authorities, is caught up in one of the most disturbing sex trafficking cases that St. Petersburg police have ever seen.

He faces charges of conspiracy to commit human trafficking and interference with custody for allegedly keeping a 16-year-old boy captive in a trailer for a year — using him as a sex slave with several other men, who have also been arrested.

“The men introduced this juvenile to sadomasochism,” said Maj. Mark Hensley, of the SPPD, at a press conference Tuesday. “The victim was living on a small mattress with no bedding, surrounded by animals, animal cages and animal feces.”

For 11 months, Gruwell and three others kept the boy trapped inside the trailer — never taking him to school or the doctor, according to Hensley.

He had been lured away from his home in Marion County with promises of a better life.

“Instead he was moved into a filthy trailer and used as a sex slave for nearly a year,” said Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.

Cops were able to find the victim while investigating another suspected case of sex trafficking involving a 17-year-old boy from Louisiana — who was allegedly lured away through a gaming app called Discord. The teen has since been recovered and sent back home, but investigators believe there could be countless more like him.

“You would not think that you live in Florida, it’s an ideal place to live work and raise a family,” explained Moody. “We all know that, and yet we have the third highest incidents of human trafficking in the nation.”
