The doting mom of America’s most hated teen broke off contact with her husband, withdrew $30,000 from a bank and used the money for a jaunt to Mexico with her “affluenza’’-afflicted son.
Tonya Couch called her husband on Dec. 3 and told him he would never again see her or his 18-year-old son, Ethan, according to newly released court papers.
A Texas judge had given Ethan an incredibly lenient sentence of probation for driving drunk and causing a traffic accident that killed four people in 2013.
His lawyer had argued that the youth suffered from “affluenza,’’ defining it as a condition brought about by his privileged upbringing by wealthy parents.
Couch and his mom vanished after a Twitter video surfaced showing him breaking his probation by partying with pals who were drinking and playing beer-pong.
He and his mother were eventually caught in the resort town of Puerto Vallarta, where he had spent some $2,000 on hookers and booze and had to offer his Rolex as collateral.
Now he’s sitting in a Mexican lockup fighting extradition to the United States.
His mom is being held in a Texas jail for hindering apprehension of a felon.
She quickly showed that “affluenza’’ runs in the family, by complaining about her first night behind bars, The Dallas Morning News reported.
