Aid bill OK’d
WASHINGTON — President Obama signed the first Hurricane Sandy disaster-relief bill into law yesterday, approving $9.7 billion for the National Flood Insurance Program.
The program was about to run out of money, leaving about 115,000 storm victims with unpaid flood claims.
The House is expected to vote on a $51 billion aid bill on Jan. 15.
