An Alabama woman was busted this weekend for allegedly kidnapping a woman and pushing her off a cliff nearly two years ago.

Loretta Kay Carr, 45, was taken into custody on June 25 on capital murder and kidnapping charges in connection to the death of Mary Elizabeth Isbell, AL.com reported.

Carr is accused of kidnapping Isabell in Oct. 2021, WHNT said, citing court documents.

The 37-year-old was last seen driving a dark-colored Jeep. She was reported missing in Jan. 2022.

Authorities now saw that Carr “intentionally” caused Isbell’s death by “pushing her off a cliff,” according to AL.com.

Carr was being held in the DeKalb County Jail on June 25 without bail.

She has requested a preliminary hearing citing the lack of evidence for the capital murder charge, according to WAFF-TV.

Police have not elaborated on Carr’s possible motive or how the two women knew each other.
