The gunman who killed five women at a Florida bank this week had dreams about carrying out a school shooting when he lived in Indiana, according to a new report.

Back in 2014, when Zephen Xaver was a 16-year-old student at Bremen High School in Midlothian, he was taken to a behavioral health center after he confessed to a school counselor that “he had a dream last night of killing students in a classroom,” according to a police report obtained by CNN.

He had the same dream during an afternoon nap at school, the report said. The investigation was listed as closed after Xaver was taken to the health center.

Bremen Public Schools Superintendent Jim White confirmed to CNN that Xaver attended Bremen High for a short stint during the 2012-2013 school year and returned for part of the 2013-2014 year.

And in March 2017, Michigan State Police contacted the Bremen Police Department, claiming that a female student had been receiving messages from Xaver threatening “suicide by cop” and “taking hostages,” according to another report obtained by the outlet.

Police reached out to Xaver’s mom, who declined police assistance and told authorities she’d speak to him, according to the report.

Josh Xaver, Zephen’s father, told the network that his son, who moved to Florida about a year ago, “wasn’t raised to be like this.”

“He’s always been a good kid,” he said. “He’s had his troubles. … But he has never hurt anyone ever before. This is a total shock.”

He added that he was “heartbroken for the victims” of his son’s Wednesday rampage at SunTrust Bank in Sebring.

Xaver, now 21, allegedly forced five women to lie on the lobby floor of SunTrust Bank in Sebring on Wednesday before shooting each one in the back of the head, according to police.

Just after the slaughter, the killer called 911, admitting that he had shot five people.

After about an hour of negotiations, Xaver refused to surrender and a SWAT team used an armored vehicle to break through the front doors of the bank.

Officers found the women lying face-down with gunshot wounds to the back of their heads and shell casings from a 9mm handgun strewn on the floor, according to a police affidavit.

Three of the women have been identified by police: customer Cynthia Watson, 61, and bank workers Marisol Lopez, 55, and Ana Piñon-Williams, 38.
