WASHINGTON — April 15 is going to be more sickening than usual for lots of taxpayers.
Up to 6 million Americans will have to pony up new ObamaCare fines when they file their taxes, the feds said.
The penalty for not having health insurance is $95 or 1 percent of income, whichever is greater. A married couple making $100,000 would pay $797, according to the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center.
For the first time, Americans will have to declare to the IRS whether they have health insurance. Up to 7.5 million more taxpayers will have to “reconcile” their ObamaCare credits, meaning they may owe the IRS money if they underestimated their income when signing up for health care.
