The makers of Angry Birds are crying fowl after a Los Angeles chicken chain allegedly cribbed their name and logo.
Rovio Entertainment, which owns the game, claims David and Mary Mkhitaryan are profiting off the game’s popularity after the couple named their restaurant chain, “Angry Birdz,” and used the same font as the video game for its signs.
The company accused the pair of trademark infringement and said it was forced to sue after the Mkhitaryans ignored a cease and desist letter in February.
Since the game was first released in 2009, Angry Birds has spawned a sprawling franchise that includes an upcoming Angry Birds movie starring Peter Dinklage, Nicki Minaj and Pete Davidson.
