A video showing animal services officers dragging a dog by its neck from a Corona apartment complex has sparked fury among animal lovers.
The footage, shared by Los Angeles-based nonprofit Animal Rescue Mission, captured the unleashed dog being pulled by workers from a grassy area near a children’s play area.
The three officers can be seen restraining the pooch with catch poles while it struggles and flips around.

The footage shows the dog struggling and flipping around as the rescuers try to contain it. theanimalrescuemissionActivists slammed the officers for using “unnecessary force” on a dog its said residents described as “sweet, friendly, and calm — even with children.”
“They called Animal Control hoping he’d be safely taken to the shelter so his family could find him,” read the caption on an Instagram post featuring the clip.
“Instead, three officers treated him like a threat and traumatized him with unnecessary force. I’ve demanded their names, disciplinary action, and removal from field duty.”
The incident has sparked fury amoung animal lovers. theanimalrescuemissionCorona Animal Shelter defended its response, saying officers were called to the scene after reports of “a large dog behaving aggressively” near children. The agency said the dog was transported safely, found uninjured and will be available for adoption if its owner isn’t located.
“We recognize that incidents involving animals can be concerning, and we remain committed to transparency, humane animal care, and continuous improvement,” the shelter said in a statement on Instagram.
