The school shooter is seen inspecting a handgun at the store just days before shooting and killing two children.
KSTP / 5 INVESTIGATESThe shop’s owner, Kory Krause told the outlet that staffers said Westman was “friendly” and “jovial” as he spent 40 minutes browsing a selection of firearms including pistols and a rifle, and that none of his behavior set off any red flags.

“Should we have discriminated against him because of a weird T-shirt and a ponytail?” Krause asked. “No, we get lots of long-haired guys with a ponytail.”
Krause said Westman didn’t purchase any of the weapons or ammunition at his shop that were used in the church attack, which included a rifle, shotgun and pistol.

The assault took place during a celebratory back-to-school Mass held to coincide with the start of the new school year. An 8-year-old and a 10-year-old were killed, while 16 other children and three parishioners in their 80s were injured.Westman, who was transgender, took his own life after the massacre.
