The chairman and ranking Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee will send a letter to Donald Trump Jr. Thursday asking him to testify before the panel.

Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told CNN about the letter a day after Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) said she wanted Trump Jr. to appear before the committee to answer questions about his meeting with a Kremlin-connected lawyer who had offered to dish dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Grassley had said a day earlier that he wanted Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort — who was also in the meeting along with Jared Kushner — to testify as early as next week.

Trump Jr. on Tuesday posted an email chain of messages with British music promoter Rob Goldstone, who first contacted him about setting up the meeting.

President Trump and his eldest son both denied any wrongdoing.
