Two men found a dead body inside the trunk of a vehicle with a “free car” sign attached to it that was left on the side of a Mississippi road last weekend, a report said.

The grisly discovery was only made after the duo drove the car, which had the keys inside, from Byram to a relative’s home in Copiah County on Sunday morning, WLBT reported, citing authorities.

The men called 911 immediately after spotting the body, Copiah County Coroner Ellis told People.

The naked body was identified as Anthony Mccrillis, 34, the owner of the vehicle who was last seen alive on Friday night, Byram Police Chief David Errington told the outlet.

It was immediately clear how or where Mccrillis died.

Errington told WLBT that Mccrillis had no signs of obvious trauma.

An autopsy will determine his cause of death.
