Progressive darling Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez offered some advice to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden as he works to win over her wing of the party and unify Democrats: Talk specifics on health care.

“What I’d like to see at a bare minimum is a health care plan that helps extend health care to young people,” AOC told the Associated Press in an interview Monday.

“This is not just about Donald Trump. It’s about a systemic structure in this country that is set up to fail working-class people, the young and people of color. We need a real plan and not just gestures,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) added to the outlet.

The 30-year-old Democratic socialist said she understood that some progressive ideas may be placed on the back burner as Biden works to earn general election appeal, but added that any pragmatic platform must include a plan to get the support of millennials and people of color.

“Dropping Medicare to 60 is not going to help millennials, is not going to help this electorate that Biden is struggling with,” she said.

AOC, who supported Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in the Democratic presidential primary, went on to say that while she has not followed in Sanders’ footsteps and endorsed Biden just yet, she expects to do so eventually.

She also didn’t rule out possibly campaigning for the moderate candidate.
