An Arizona man allegedly shot his girlfriend and attempted to rush her to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, cops said.

Jason Warnock, 36, was busted for murder for fatally shooting Skylar Hughes, 31, in their travel trailer, Prescott police said Wednesday.

Warnock told officers he took Hughes to Yavapai Regional Medical Center after he shot her.

She was pronounced dead at the hospital at around 10:30 p.m.

On top of first-degree murder, police said Warnock was charged with misconduct involving weapons. He was booked in Yavapai County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
