An armed gangbanger slammed his car into an Uber while speeding through Los Angles at up to 100 mph, killing two sisters and a friend — while he was free on a sweetheart probation deal for attempted murder.
Gregory Black, 31, allegedly blew through several red lights early Saturday before he T-boned the Honda rideshare — which was hit so hard it spun five times before coming to a stop, police said.
Videos showed the “well-known gang member” effectively “playing roulette” in his Mercedes-Benz by speeding at up to 100 mph in a 35-mph zone, Detective Ryan Moreno said.
“Just seeing all the casualties — it looked like a bomb went off,” Moreno said.
“It’s obvious when you see these videos, that it’s vehicular homicide all the way.”
The crash killed sisters Kimberly Izquierdo, 27, and Veronica Amezola, 23, along with their friend Juvelyn Arroyo, 23, who were on their way home from a concert, according to Fox Los Angeles.
At least one of the women was flung out of the car and found on the street. The driver and a male front passenger — neither of whom was identified — were injured and are recovering, the LAPD said.

Juvelyn Arroyo, 23, the sisters’ friend, also was killed in the wreck. GoFundMeBlack suffered a fractured ankle and other minor injuries — and was found with a loaded weapon in the car, police said.
He already has 11 felony bookings and three felony convictions — and was on probation for attempted murder tied to a deadly drive-by shooting, according to police and records.
“Mr. Black is going to prison,” Moreno said as the gangbanger was hit with three counts of gross vehicular manslaughter.
“He has an extensive criminal history. I’m 100% confident he’s going to go to prison. This man should never come out and see the light of day.”
Black and four others were charged with homicide related to a drive-by shooting on May 20, 20, in Los Angeles County, The Orange County Register reported.
A surveillance camera caught the violent collision. KTLAThe murder charges were eventually dropped in 2021, with alleged accomplices Kenneth Bragg and Catrina Briggs-Bradley pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter.
Briggs-Bradley was sentenced to 12 years in state prison, and Bragg was given a 21-year sentence.
Black, however, pleaded no contest to one count of attempted murder and was given only five years of probation, court records show.
Along with the latest charges, Black also faces two or more prior felony convictions and aggravated circumstances of great bodily injury.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office did not immediately respond to messages Thursday as to why Black only got probation for the attempted murder.
However, Deputy D.A. Jonathan Hatami told The Post that he has never seen such a lenient sentence for an attempted murder charge in his 17 years as a prosecutor.
The white Mercedes-Benz was traveling at speeds up to 100 mph, police said. FOX 11 Los Angeles“It’s very unusual for a person who pleads to such a serious, violent felony to be let go like that when he already had a previous strike,” said Hatami, who is running to replace embattled D.A. George Gascón.
“He was allowed to walk away, and now look at what happened.”
Hatami likened it to other controversial cases, including that of Justin Flores, the career criminal who was allowed parole over a weapons violation in 2022 when he shot and killed two El Monte police officers.
Flores would have been back in prison serving a three-year sentence over the weapons violation if he wasn’t given a slap on the wrist.
The widow of one of the slain officers has since filed a $25 million lawsuit against Gascon, alleging his criminal justice reform policies allowed Flores to carry out the killings.
“These cases are his responsibilities,” Hatami said of Gascón.
“That this keeps happening tells us that George Gascón cares more about criminals than he does about our residents.”
The Uber spun around five times as a result of the violent collision. FOX 11 Los AngelesInvestigators into Saturday’s deadly crash, meanwhile, are still trying to determine if alcohol or drugs played a role in the deadly weekend crash.
“It’s almost worse that there isn’t any kind of alcohol or DUI,” Moreno told reporters.
“You’re actually sober and you’re actually driving like that sober? Who’s going to get behind the wheel and drive 100 mph and run red lights?”
A devastated brother of the two dead sisters said he could not come to terms with losing them.
“I still have that feeling that they’re going to walk through the door and it’s always going to be there,” Jose Izquierdo told NBC Los Angeles.
“All three girls were jewels. My sisters were the perfect daughters. They were the perfect sisters. They were perfect.”
The brother said his parents were too heartbroken to comment about the loss.
“They’re just like every other parent in this world,” Izquierdo told the outlet. “That is what you fear. Again, when you bring a child into this world, you earn that fear and they’re broken. Their world is dark.”
Kimberly had just graduated from nursing school while her sister, who was interested in environmental science, recently landed a job at an animal shelter, KTLA reported.
“This was another night when they went out together and they were responsible and they didn’t drive. [They were] trying to come back home, and this was a time they didn’t come back home,” Izquierdo told the outlet.
“I really wish that Kimberly and Veronica and Juvelyn could see how much love they left here, that they still have here, that they’ll always have here,” he added.
GoFundMe accounts were set up to help cover funeral expenses for the sisters and for Arroyo.
Black was being held in the LA County jail on a $4 million bond; his next court date is Sept. 5.
