Two American astronauts were having an out-of-this-world day at work Monday morning — venturing into outer space for an emergency spacewalk to fix a few issues with the International Space Station.
Scott Kelly was joined by Tim Kopra at 7:45 a.m. as they worked to move a stalled transporter rail car ahead of Wednesday’s arrival of a Russian resupply spacecraft, according to NASA.
By 8:30 a.m., the space duo had successfully moved the rail car and continued on with “get-ahead” tasks.
The three-hour mission was being streamed online.
“Call me an old romantic but this stuff is the coolest,” tweeted @Crassall.
“Just sitting here watching a live feed of human beings chilling in space like it’s no big deal. We live in the future!” wrote @LOLCLT.
