At least five people were killed in a small plane crash in Louisiana early Saturday after the aircraft went down moments after takeoff, according to a report.

One surviving passenger and three people who were on the ground were taken to the hospital, Lafayette Fire Chief Robert Benoit said, according to CNN.

It’s unclear what caused the crash.

Weather could have been a factor. The National Weather Service reported a “dense fog” on Saturday around 7 a.m.
