French police killed a man Friday after he stabbed four people in a park outside of Paris, according to reports.
The suspect, who was not immediately identified, was “neutralized” after stabbing several victims in Villejuif, a southern suburb of France’s capital, AFP reported.
At least one of the victims has died, a source later told the outlet.
France’s BFM TV said the attack took place at about 2 p.m. local time, CNN reports.
Although the attacker had been “neutralized,” police officials in the region advised people to avoid the Parc des Bruyères area, according to CNN.
Some initial reports indicated that the assailant, who seemingly attacked people at random outside of a supermarket, was wearing an explosive vest, but those details have not been confirmed, BBC reports.
Two victims were seriously injured, according to the British outlet.
A motive for the attack was not immediately clear.
