An Indian automaker renamed its “Zica” hatchback on Monday — to avoid any confusion with the Zika virus.

Tata Motors renamed the car “Tiago,” following an online contest for a new name.

The finalists, from more than 37,000 suggestions, included Tiago, Civet and Adore.

Tiago is a male name that means “James” in Portuguese and Spanish. Zica was a a derivative of Zippy Car, Tata honchos have said.

The company has a lot at stake with its economy car, which was unveiled at the new Delhi Auto Show earlier this month, and has been endorsed by world-famous soccer player Lionel Messi.
