A 7-month-old baby was hospitalized in Cleveland with a blood alcohol level three times the legal level for an adult driver, according to officials.

The family insisted they have no idea how the baby girl became intoxicated, resulting in a whopping BAC of 0.25 when tested Sunday at a hospital, news station WJW reported.

The baby’s mother told investigators she left the infant in an aunt’s care around 9 a.m. on Sunday before she headed to work. When she returned to pick up the child, the mom noticed the baby’s behavior was unusual, according to WJW.

The mom brought her to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, where physicians reported the baby was limp and unresponsive, according to officials.

Authorities said a drug panel was performed on the baby and tests indicated the child had alcohol in her system.

Both the mom and aunt said they didn’t know how alcohol entered the baby’s system.

No charges have been filed, so police have not released the identities of anyone involved in the case

Police launched an investigation and notified child services of the incident.
