WASHINGTON — President Obama fired up Air Force One and launched the first fund-raising tour of his new term, wooing California big shots in a bid to help Democrats retake the House.

Obama was expected to haul in close to $6 million at two San Francisco fund-raisers last night.

The first was a cocktail reception at the home of Kat Taylor and Tom Steyer, with 100 guests forking over up to $32,400 apiece to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Steyer, a wealthy founder of an investment firm, is an opponent of the Keystone pipeline project that is seeking White House approval.

Another event, at the home of Ann and Gordon Getty, the billionaire philanthropist, hosted 75 guests paying $32,400 each. Long Island Rep. Steve Israel, who heads the DCCC, was scheduled to attend both events.
