WASHINGTON — President Obama pardoned 17 criminals yesterday — including a Georgia man who had an illegal gun and others convicted of forgery and peddling drugs.

Among those to get relief from the president was Lynn Stanek, a 53-year old Oregon divorcée who got six months in jail for “unlawful use of a communication facility to distribute cocaine.”

Obama has been stingy with pardons compared to many of his predecessors. He pardoned just 22 people during his first term.

The White House didn’t say why these particular people got pardoned.
