Bernie Sanders distributed a video clip Friday showing Hillary Clinton saying there were “advantages” to outsourcing jobs.

His campaign dredged up the clip — a 2012 appearance on Indian TV — as the two battle for votes in Michigan, where many jobs have gone overseas, and as Clinton proposed pulling tax breaks for US firms that outsource.

In the clip, the secretary of state is asked about outsourcing during a forum on the Indian station NDTV.

“I think there are advantages with it that have certainly benefited many parts of our country, and there are disadvantages that go to the need to, you know, improve the job skills of our own people,” she replies.

Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ campaign manager, said the video “shows Secretary Clinton says different things to different audiences about outsourcing.”

But her campaign said she was only noting trade deals have good and bad points.

At a Detroit car-parts plant, Clinton laid out a plan to revoke tax relief for firms that move jobs overseas.

“If you aren’t going to invest in us, why should taxpayers invest in you?” she said.
