One of the leading Democratic presidential contenders, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, cut his head on the edge of a shower door Friday morning, which required seven stitches.
The 77-year-old self-described socialist went to a walk-in clinic for treatment after the slip and walked out with a scar and an otherwise clean bill of health, his campaign told reporters.
“The senator has proceeded with all of his scheduled events,” a spokesperson said.
Sanders is one of at least two dozen Democrats either running for the White House or eyeing a possible campaign to challenge President Trump in 2020.
