LONDON — Elizabeth Taylor’s dress for her first wedding, to hotel heir Conrad Hilton in 1950, will be auctioned off next month, Christie’s said yesterday.
The oyster-shell-colored, floor-length, satin gown with a silk gauze off-the-shoulder neckline was created by Hollywood costume designer Helen Rose for Taylor, then 18. A gift from MGM Studios, it has a top estimate of $75,300.
Taylor died in 2011 at the age of 79.
