President Biden dined at a posh Upper East Side Italian restaurant Tuesday night as his successor atop the Democratic ticket readied for her presidential debate.
The 81-year-old commander in chief was spotted dining at Campagnola on First Avenue for his granddaughter’s birthday a day before he’s set to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in lower Manhattan.

The president noshed on chicken parmesan and his party sat in the back of the restaurant, two workers told The Post.
One of the restaurant employees noted that “there was a lot of f—king traffic” during Biden’s visit. “There was a lot of security. We couldn’t do anything.”
The cashier at a neighboring deli said Biden’s motorcade attracted a large crowd of people who were “shouting and shouting.”
Before departing for New York, Biden said that he planned to watch the debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump at 9 p.m.

“I’ve spoken to the vice president. She seems calm, cool and collected. I think she’s going to do great. And I’m not going to tell you what advice I gave her.”
Harris will join Biden on Wednesday at three different 9/11-related events in three different states — with the first at the World Trade Center site.

Biden committed his latest gaffe Tuesday night when he said he was heading up to New York City and “doing 9/11.”
“I’m going up to my granddaughter’s birthday in New York, then we’re going to watch the debate and tomorrow I’m doing 9/11,” he previously told reporters.
Biden’s unfortunate — and inappropriate — phrasing to describe attending the ceremonies to remember the nearly 3,000 people killed in the 2001 attacks was quickly noticed by social media users.
