Vice President Joe Biden came to City Hall yesterday to demand that Congress pass stricter gun laws and show “one-tenth the courage” of a heroic teacher killed at Sandy Hook trying to protect students from a heavily armed gunman.

“It’s time for the political establishment to show the courage your daughter showed,” Biden said, speaking to the family of murdered teacher Lauren Rousseau, one of several Newtown, Conn., families that joined Biden (left) and Mayor Bloomberg.

Biden’s plea followed a decision by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid this week to shelve an assault-weapon ban from a gun law package going before the Senate.
