Attorney General Bill Barr asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi if she brought “handcuffs” for him Wednesday at an event at the Capitol, according to reporters at the scene.

Barr approached the California Democrat — who had accused the AG of lying about the special counsel’s Russia report — following the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service in Washington, shook her hand, and asked, “Madam Speaker, did you bring your handcuffs?”

Pelosi smiled and cracked that the House Sergeant at Arms was nearby if any arrests were necessary.

Barr then laughed and walked away.

The House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Barr in contempt when he ignored its subpoena for special counsel Robert Mueller’s unredacted Russia report.
