Central District US Attorney Bill Essayli threatened on-the-spot arrests of agitators breaking the law on federal property – as The California Post has learned that black-clad members of Antifa have been terrorizing workers for months outside the federal building in downtown LA.

“I have authorized federal officers to arrest anyone engaged in violence on the spot,” the top prosecutor told The Post Saturday – a day after violent anti-ICE protesters caused chaos and clashed with federal agents outside the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building, which houses the Central District courthouse and agencies including Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Since the summer, far-left radicals have been harassing federal employees, including lawyers and judges, as they leave work for the day – recording their faces and license plates, sources said.

“We’re concerned it could be used to dox our employees,” Essayli said, referring to when someone’s personal information gets published online with ill intent.

Sources said the feds are looking to identify and arrest the creeps abusing employees  in the back of the federal building – but there are concerns over whether their First Amendment right to protest would interfere.

Essayli said he asked the feds for more law enforcement help following wild protests in downtown LA Friday night outside the federal building, which houses the Central District federal court. Agitators scrawled anti-ICE spraypaint on the property and moved an enormous dumpster toward the building’s entrance to stymy cops’ response.

The crowd thinned out once LAPD arrived.

“The violence and destruction of property directed at our federal properties in downtown Los Angeles last night is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Essayli said Saturday. “I have requested additional federal officers be deployed to Los Angeles to protect our properties.”

Mayor Karen Bass – who earlier was in court for failed CNN host Don Lemon, who was just arrested in the city on federal charges related to his storming of a Minnesota church earlier this month – urged protesters to remain peaceful.

“The protests are extremely important, but the protests must be peaceful. Don’t be surprised if the military enters our city again. It is part of our right to protest, but it is not our right to tear up the city or vandalize our city.”

Last year, the Trump administration formally designated Antifa, short for anti-fascist, as a terrorist organization. The shadowy, masked group has been behind violent riots across the country – often showing up to protests to clash with law enforcement.

The extremist group was behind the raucous riots that swept the nation following the death of George Floyd in 2020 – prompting Trump to call in the National Guard as local businesses burned to the ground and numerous law enforcement were injured.

In June, the FBI said it was investigating whether Antifa played a part in the unruly, days-long protests in LA, when anti-ICE agitators chucked cement and rocks at federal agents, set cars on fire and stormed highways.

Crowds took to the streets in protest of an ICE raid that rounded up scores of illegal immigrants – including those with rap sheets for murder and sexual assault – in the city.
