This big beast looks a little lost.

An inquisitive bison, possibly in need of directions, was photographed consulting a map in a South Dakota national park.

The hulking mammals have notoriously terrible vision, so the brawny bison slowly approached the sign at Wind Cave National Park and then practically pressed its head against the poster to get a closer look.

Turns out the bison may have learned a thing or two about itself as well: The park placard also offered information about the bison that roam in the park.

Park worker Tom Farrell was able to capture the memorable moment on camera in March.
