An employee at a Minnesota McDonald’s booted a group of black teens out of the restaurant — even after they said they were being threatened by a gun-wielding man outside.
Jihan Abdullahi, 17, told the Star Tribune that she and a friend were trying in vain to pay for food using an app on their phone Monday night. When they canceled their order at the Eden Prairie eatery, a white man behind them made a slight under his breath, which they interpreted as racist.
“You were paying with EBT, that’s why it didn’t work,” he reportedly sneered, referring to the government-funded food assistance program.
Abdullahi said she replied: “‘Just because I’m black you think my friends and I live under EBT?’ And he said, ‘Yes.’”
As other young people stepped in and confronted the man over the comment, “The man pulls out his gun and begins to say, ‘Whoa, whoa,’ and everyone backs up, and he runs out the door,” Abdullahi said.
McDonald’s employees then tried to force the group of teens outside too — even as they told them they are worried about the gun-wielding man.
“I don’t give a f—, get out of my store now!” one employee says.
The teens were stunned.
“@McDonalds is this what you stand for? We were just trying to order when this man said racist remarks, claimed to be touched (when really he pushed a kid as seen on video) pulled a gun out on kids and you still kick us out knowing we’re in danger? “the person posting the video tweeted.
McDonald’s didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from The Post.
Eden Prairie police said they’re investigating.
