A Hartford man claims he found a knife and bloody pillow near trash cans where evidence in the Jennifer Dulos case was recovered — but traded the weapon for a $5 piece of crack, according to a new report.

The man, who was not identified because he could be a witness in the case, claims he was rummaging through a trash can days after Dulos’ disappearance when he spotted a blue-and-white striped pillow, he recalled in an interview with the Hartford Courant.

After removing the article from the trash, the man noticed it was saturated in blood.

“It was about a quart of blood on the pillow, all over the pillow. I tell you, whoever got hurt got hurt real bad,” the man reportedly said. “I looked underneath and there was a knife under there.”

Itching for a crack fix, he traded the knife to a dealer named “Fudge.”

“I put the knife in my pocket for some reason. I was thinking stupid. I was on that crack. I wanted a hit so bad I went looking for somebody to sell me some crack,” he told the Courant.

Courant sources reportedly told the paper the man was captured on video removing the items from the vestibule the weekend Dulos was reported missing.

The trash can where the knife and pillow were allegedly discovered is on the same street, Albany Avenue, where Dulos’ estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, was seen on surveillance footage dropping bags into trash cans on May 24, the night she was reported missing.

Fotis was also captured slipping a FedEx package into a nearby storm drain. Cops fished it out a week later, and found a doctored license plate from a car Fotis once owned.

He and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have both been charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with evidence in connection with her disappearance.

After interviewing the man who found the knife, police searched Albany Avenue and discovered a bloody Vineyard Vines shirt they believe the mom-of-five was wearing the day she disappeared. They also recovered her bra, along with sponges and other cleaning items that tested positive for Jennifer’s DNA, according to court documents cited by the Courant.

At the time of her disappearance, she and Fotis were embroiled in a contentious divorce battle.
