They went up like a firework — and came back to Earth almost as fast.

Pop-star Katy Perry, “CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King, and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez made history as part of an all-women crew that blasted into space with Bezos’ Blue Origin space company Monday.

But critics say the spectacle was more about the stars on the ground than the ones in the sky.

The six women — the first all-female crew since Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova‘s solo flight in 1963 — spent just four minutes in zero-gravity space and were back safely on terra firma in 11 minutes.

On hand to watch, Perry’s longtime partner Orlando Bloom and their daughter Daisy, King’s best friend Oprah, and Kris Jenner and Khloe Kardashian.

The New Shepard 31 soared through the Texas sky with the three celebrities, along with civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen, ex-NASA engineer Aisha Bowe and film producer Kerianne Flynn, and all were clearly struck by the short experience.

Perry could be heard shouting, “oh my goddess” and explaining that the moon looked pink as the rocket hurtled 62 miles above the Earth, just above the Karman Line designating outer space.

“I can’t put it into words. We got to see the moon!” Sanchez said as she teared up after her return. “The Earth looked so quiet … I don’t think you could describe it.”

Perry, who came out of the capsule holding a daisy in tribute to her daughter, said she was thrilled over the experience and revealed that she sang Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World” during the trip rather than one of her own songs to celebrate humanity.

“I think that is not about me. It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us,” she said.

“It’s about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging. And it’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it,” Perry added. “This is all for the benefit of Earth.”

It was also a huge benefit to Bezo’s space outfit. Prior to the highly publicized launch, all six passengers did a lengthy Elle magazine interview in which they pledged to go to space glammed up with makeup and fake eyelashes.

Blue Origin is trying to operate regular space tourism flights, and taking reservations with a $150,000 deposit. It’s not clear how much Blue Origin charges, but a seat on the company’s first crewed flight went for $28 million.

And not everyone was cheering for the flight — with many people taking to social media to slam the mission as a stunt carried out by Bezos and the rich celebrities on board.

Both Sanchez and King fought back against the detractors, saying the trip will serve to inspire other women to aim for the stars.

“So now that we are the first female crew, I know we are not going to be the last,” King said. And I just think it opens doors to innovation and imagination.”

“There’s always positive and negative, always,” Sanchez added. “Blue Origin’s mission is for the benefit of Earth.”

When King got out of the capsure, she also kissed the Earth, then laughed as she said, “Oh my God, that was amazing.”

“It’s really quiet and peaceful,” she added. “It’s such a reminder about how we need to do better, be better. Do better, be better human beings.”

Nguyen, Flynn and Bowe were all in tears after fulfilling their dreams, with Nguyen revealing that she saw the experience as an opportunity “to heal” from the sexual assault that upended her STEM studies years ago.

“[I’m] so grateful to everyone who made it a reality,” the civil rights advocate said. “I just want every survivor and every person who’s ever had a dream deferred to know that your dreams are valid.”

“This mum went to space,” Flynn, a film producer, cheered in victory.

“I will never be the same,” added Bowe, a rocket scientist. “There are no boundaries, there’s no border, there’s just Earth.”

Bezos, who took a tumble as he raced to the landing site, was the first at the scene to greet his fiancée and the rest of the crew as they exited the capsule, with he and Sanchez sharing a hug and kiss.

Although their trip to space was  short, the women of NS31 helped carry out various experiments for the universities and science groups that each have partnered up with.

The passengers were also carrying postcards from fans to the final frontier, which will be returned to them once they get back home.

The mission marks the 11th human flight for the Bezos-owned rocket company’s New Shepard program.

Along with the successful trip, the New Shepard’s booster rocket was also able to make a perfect landing, allowing it to be reusable similar to how SpaceX conducts its test launches.
