The suspect charged in the Colorado supermarket rampage that left 10 people dead will make his first court appearance Thursday morning, prosecutors said.
Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, will face Judge Thomas Mulvahill on 10 counts of first-degree murder in Colorado District Court at 10:15 a.m. Eastern Time.
The procedural hearing, which will advise Alissa of his rights and the charges against him, will be held virtually.
It’s unclear whether Alissa will appear in person.
“It is anticipated that this Appearance will be the first court appearance in what will likely be a lengthy court process,” the District Attorney’s Office for Colorado’s 20th Judicial District said in a press release that doesn’t mention Alissa by name.
