Gabby Petito’s family reveals what they want to happen to Brian Laundrie

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

Gabby Petito’s family said Wednesday they look forward to the day her fugitive boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, is nabbed and brought to justice in her death and disappearance.

“I want to look him in the eyes,” the slain Long Island native’s mom, Nichole Schmidt, said on the Dr. Phil show on Wednesday.

Petito’s father had a harsher thought.

“I want to see him in a jail cell the rest of his life where — he’s an outdoorsman — being in that concrete cell that he can’t go see those trees and smell the fresh air like that,” Joe Petito said.

One of Dog the Bounty Hunter’s daughters has dismissed his high-profile pursuit of Brian Laundrie as a “publicity stunt.”

“He needs to back off and let the FBI handle it,” Cecily Chapman, 28, told The Sun of her estranged 68-year-old dad, Duane Chapman.

“It’s just a publicity stunt. That’s really what it is,” she said of Dog, who adopted her after marrying her mom, Beth, who died in 2019.

By Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

Brian Laundrie used Gabby Petito’s bank card in Wyoming just three days after the slain 22-year-old Long Island native was last seen alive, her family’s lawyer said Tuesday.

Lawyer says Brian Laundrie flew home to Florida on Aug. 17 in latest twist

By Jack Morphet and Jorge Fitz-Gibbon

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. — The lawyer for Brian Laundrie’s family told The Post on Tuesday that the fugitive flew home to Florida on Aug. 17 — a bombshell claim that throws a wrench in the timeline of the Gabby Petito case.

Laundrie family lawyer Steven Bertolino said Brian returned home for supplies and then flew back to Salt Lake City, Utah, on Aug. 23 to rejoin Petito.

Brian’s brief sojourn home would have come after the couple’s now-infamous fight in Utah that involved cops and before her body was found in a national forest last month.

“Brian flew home to obtain some items and empty and close the storage unit to save money as [he and Petito] contemplated extending the road trip,” Bertolino wrote in a text to The Post.

Dog the Bounty Hunter said he believes that Brian Laundrie is still alive somewhere in the wilderness since he’s a “survivalist” and showed no indication that he had plans to take his own life.

“I would assume, you know, he is alive. Not alive and doing well but he’s alive,” the reality TV star, whose real name is Duane Chapman, told TMZ on Monday.

Chapman, 68, said he has no reason to believe the 23-year-old fugitive — who is sought for questioning in Gabby Petito’s disappearance and death — was suicidal when he took off amid mounting attention to the case.

Gabby Petito’s parents on Dr. Phil: Brian Laundrie should turn himself in

By Emily Crane

Gabby Petito’s parents are demanding Brian Laundrie turn himself in and insist he’s hiding somewhere and living off the land — as they slammed him for being a “coward” for refusing to speak to them about their daughter.

In an interview with Dr. Phil set to air in full Tuesday, the slain 22-year-old’s parents and stepparents said Laundrie’s unwillingness to cooperate with authorities and his subsequent disappearance was “infuriating.”

Laundrie, the sole person of interest in Petito’s case, is the subject of a massive FBI hunt after he vanished just days before his girlfriend was found dead on Sept. 19 in Wyoming.

When asked if they believe Laundrie is in hiding somewhere, Petito’s parents were adamant he was.
