Brits are going green for the Queen.

With the 70th anniversary of the monarch’s coronation approaching, her subjects are being asked to plant trees to celebrate.

“The Queen’s Green Canopy” project encourages landowners to plant native trees in a bid to help the environment and mark the occasion.

The Queen, 94, will reach her Platinum Jubilee in February 2022.

She is the longest-reigning monarch in the country’s history, and the tree planting will be a highlight of a planned four-day public holiday that summer.

“As we celebrate Her Majesty’s incredible 70 years of service, I encourage everyone to get behind this scheme and go ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee,’” Prime Minister Boris Johnson said.
