Convicted murderer Bryan Kohberger had a black heart drawing in front of him during his high-profile sentencing hearing in Idaho Wednesday.
The eerie symbol was spotted on a piece of paper just in front of Kohberger as he stoically listened to the families of his four victims deliver emotional impact statements.
The cold-blooded killer stared straight ahead — never glancing down at the heart — as the grief-stricken parents, siblings, grandparents and friends of the slain University of Idaho students eviscerated him, one after another, during the court hearing.
Bryan Kohberger appears at the Ada County Courthouse, for his sentencing hearing. APWhen asked about the drawing following the sentencing, Prosecutor Bill Thompson said it was the “first I’ve heard of it.”
Kohberger, who took a last-minute plea deal that spared him the death penalty, declined to speak before he was eventually sentenced to life in prison.
“I respectfully decline,” he said.

Kohberger was sentenced to life in prison for the gruesome quadruple-murder. ZUMAPRESS.comBefore handing down the sentence, Judge Steven Hippler acknowledged it was possible that Kohberger’s motive in murdering Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle, Kaylee Goncalves and Ethan Chapin back in 2022 would never be known.
“Even if I could force him to speak, which legally I cannot, how could anyone ever be assured that what he speaks is the truth?” the judge said before handing down the sentence.
“Do we really believe after all this that he is capable of giving up the truth, or some piece of himself to help the people whose lives he destroyed in the first place.”On Monday, President Trump weighed in, saying he hoped the judge “makes” Kohberger reveal the motive behind the seemingly-random quadruple slayings.
