Freaked-out amusement park riders say they “dodged death” when a bungee cord attached to a ride in Florida broke moments before they were launched into the air.

Footage of the scare was captured Saturday night at Cobra Beach Adventure Park in Panama City Beach, where there was a mishap on the Vertical Accelerator rider, news station WMBB reported.

Two passengers were seen strapped into their seats on the slingshot-style ride as one of the workers prepared to shoot them up into the air.

In the video, one of the bungee cords holding the ride together snapped into pieces as the rider operator flees to take cover.

“We just dodged death,” a woman can be heard saying in the footage.

A rep for the amusement park didn’t immediately respond to request for comment.
