Jennifer Fagenson has seen highs and lows as a specialist clerk on the New York Stock Exchange floor – but she hadn’t seen her floor-trader colleagues as excited as yesterday, when President Bush came.

Bush was interested in the fine points of the new electronic trading systems, and quizzed her about it.

“He really had a lot of good, detailed questions about what the role of my [market-making] firm was in helping set the price of Disney’s stock,” she said.
