A blush-worthy pole dancing exhibition at the annual Colorado State Fair in Pueblo has organizers red-faced and locals griping that the raunchy display is a bit too racy for the family friendly fair.

“I was a little shocked that this is happening out of there,” fair-goer Nolan Babin told KDVR-TV News.

“It was inappropriate for kids,” another attendee told the outlet, “and this is a kids’ location.”

The controversy stems from a demonstration at the fair on Friday, when a pole was erected on a stage and used to demonstrate the art of pole dancing — a common tool for strippers that has also gained popularity in recent years as an exercise regimen.

However, the daring demonstration went viral online, leaving organizers red-faced over the stunt.

Andrea Wiesenmeyer, the fair’s general manager, said organizers were blindsided.

“At some point they brought in a third-party with a peacock, full fitness and body art,” she said. “So that was not on our list, not on our schedule and we were not aware.”

Footage of the event aired by KDVR shows a handful of spectators looking on as a full-figured woman is seen bending over on the stage, then climbs the pole and pulls off several acrobatic moves.

But even though the display raised some eyebrows, some didn’t see what the big deal was.

“Stop complaining about everything,” griped Gilbert Ortiz, a former clerk for Pueblo. “Stop being so negative about everything and look for the beauty in life and in art and culture.

“I would absolutely support this lady coming back next year, and I would tell her to continue her beautiful artistic expression,” Ortiz said.
